Powerlifting contests are always done using the metric size plates, yet most commercial gyms use "pound" plates that are usually low quality, meaning inaccurate weights. When you are training for a contest, you want to know that your training weights are EXACTLY what you want them to be, not plus or minus.... anything!
StrongArm plates are not on the IPF approved list, but only because we did not want to pay the enormous fees the IPF wants for this. They ARE made to IPF specifications for calibrated weight, dimensions and colors. They can be used at any USAPL, USPA or other federation contests that require IPF spec plates, and home or commercial gyms. You can be assured they are every bit as precise and accurate as the plates you will see on the contest platform. You are just paying considerably less for them!
We've had our plates tested and certified as correct weight, see this page for more information and documentation of the testing.
All prices are for pairs, and include shipping to lower 48 States.
Accurate and affordable. Quick delivery to with great customer service.
We bought these plates after our gym closed down due to the virus. The quality is excellent but the customer service is even better. Due to the virus, and the ripples through the economy and supply chain, material simply wasn't available and when you could find it shipping was a nightmare. The team at StrongArm kept us informed formed with periodic emails and did everything they could to get our product here as soon as possible.
These plates are actually better quality than some of the way more expensive name brand plates. Calibration is spot on. These remain my plates of choice for running meets.
My first set of plates were missing one package. This had nothing to do with Strongarm. It was the delivery service that damaged it and then did not deliver it. I worked through Mike on this and he resolved it immediately. I then ordered more and the service was again amazing. Look forward to working with Mike again and looking forward to a possible sponsorship when we start to host USPA meets. Thanks Mike.
Poor communication, changing suppliers and not announcing it or offering refunds prior to shipping out the new undisclosed items is low.
I won’t be ordering from this company again.
