Sales of our calibrated plates has been very high. All incoming shipments are sold out. The next with any available will be May or June. Any orders placed will be PRE-ORDERS for that timeframe.
Powerlifting contests are always done using the metric size plates, yet most commercial gyms use "pound" plates that are usually low quality, meaning inaccurate weights. When you are training for a contest, you want to know that your training weights are EXACTLY what you want them to be, not plus or minus.... anything!
StrongArm plates are not on the IPF approved list (not yet at least), but only because we did not want to pay the enormous fees the IPF wants for this. They ARE made to IPF specifications for calibrated weight, dimensions and colors. They are good for use in any USAPL, USPA or other federations contests that require IPF Spec plates, and home or commercial gyms. You can be assured they are every bit as precise and accurate as the plates you will see on any contest platform. You are just paying considerably less for them!
We've had our plates tested and certified as correct weight, see this page for more information and documentation of the testing. All sets include as many 25 kg's as you select, and a pair each of 20, 15, 10, 5, 2.5 and 1.25 kg plates.
All prices include shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states.
Check out the Garage Gym Lab review:
I ordered the calibrated plates and the power bar. I have not received the plates (back ordered) but I was sent the wrong bar. Been sending emails for over a week... they are yet to reply.
Gmail was sending Nick's emails to my Spam folder for some reason, this review is the first time I'm hearing about his issue. Looks like a picking error by the Indiana warehouse, we are getting them to correct it ASAP.
The calibrated set I order is great! Meets standards and it’s just like every other calibrated plates out there. This is Best bang for your buck!
They have been so good on keeping consumers up to date. As soon I as received my order I notice I didn’t get my complete set I had to contact them just to be told they didn’t get it from the manufacturer. Wish they told me ahead of time instead of waiting for me to contact them.
In a time where plates were not existent or insanely overpriced Mike at StrongArm was taking preorders on calibrated plates at prices at or below what was being charged for standard gym plates. It did take a fair amount of time to get them but it was well worth it. I only had one 25kg plate out of about 400 kilos that had a significant blemish. I sent him a picture and he said he’d send me a new one as soon as he got them so no complaint there. You really can’t go wrong with StrongArm plates in my opinion.
Beautiful plates, look super sharp and spot on with the weight. These are well worth the money for the upgrade over normal plates.
